Recently I started following the Happy Interior blog written by a guy named Igor. He blogs about everything that inspires him to make a happy home; A colorful illustration, a quirky vase, an eye-catching cushion, or a fresh bunch of flowers – small things that can makes you happy.
And that is pretty much the same approach I have for my home and blogging. Where ever you are in life, and mayby also with worries and problems – I like to be surrounded by things I like to look at and that makes my happy. So my day can be a little better.
Another interesting thing about his blog is a concept called “Urban Jungle Bloggers“.
He likes a green home, and every month he posts about this in collaboration with another blogger; joelix.com.
They share ideas to create an urban jungle through styling ideas, DIYs and green tips & tricks.
And this month they challenge themselves and their readers to make three different stylings of a single plant.
As my latest post indicates I have become very fond of plants as part of my home decor. Furthermore I would like to get better to style still life pictures – so I decide to participate and challenge myself a bit.
Below are the results.
The plant, the pot and the surroundings are the same, only the accessories and framing are different.
Style 1: Pastels
Style 2: Urban jungle
Style 3: Simple
My own favorite is #2, but this is also the style I am most comfortable with.
On blogs, Instagram and Pinterest I’m often impressed with the simple and monochrome style. A few objects arranged and a beautiful, inspiring and nice photo appears. But it’s not as easy as it seems when trying to make such a photo.
If you have some good styling tips, they are more than welcome.
