The first design fair of the year has begun - the North Modern design fair.
If you don’t know about fairs, it is where the shops and stores can see and order products for the next season. Therefore it is also the place where a lot of new products are introduced and it’s possible to see what the different design and interior companies think will trend the coming season.
The keywords for SS16 are:
- Plants. They have come and the will stay - and it will expand further, there will come a lot of flowers too.
- Ceramics. It has been here for a while and started with the retro trend and the revival of the old 70 ceramics with colors, structures and dark colors. Now a lot of new companies are now producing ceramic in a new and modern way, both small ceramist but also Kähler, Broste and Finnsdottir is now introducing their own collections. Especially there will be a lot of tableware, and I don’t think we will see a lot of white plates in the interior magazines.
- Dark and dusty colors. Not the typically color for the spring season, but we will see a lot more colors than the past seasons, both on interior and walls.
